Size
Like a good pair of shoes you need the right fit, which means the right size. But unlike a pair of shoes, when it comes to rugs there can be many sizes that fit right.
Why not make it easy on yourself though and pick an 'off the rack' size. You could have a rug custom made to any size you want, but with many standard sizes available at a fraction of the cost it's not usually necessary.
As you will see most rugs are rectangular. Here is a list of the usual standard sizes available at rugs a million. Size does vary from rug to rug, so the sizes below are approximate only.
When it comes down to what size rug you should use, remember that with rugs 'anything goes'. If it fits and looks good, then do it ! Rules are there to be broken, and the table below is only a guide.

These sizes are available, but not every rug is available in every size. You'll never know what sizes you'll find on the day, so be flexible with your options. |
